Building with Habitat for Humanity
Our work together spans years, continents, hundreds of volunteers and hundreds of thousands of square feet of Hardie® materials. The people who show up and the mission that drives them
Habitat for Humanity® supports collectively building a world where everyone has a decent place to live and a secure, affordable place to call home. James Hardie is proud to partner with Habitat because their vision and our purpose, Building a Better Future for All™, are closely aligned.
Building resilience together
Habitat for Humanity is a world-renowned nonprofit dedicated to building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Both Habitat and James Hardie share an unwavering commitment to creating resilient, sustainable communities that are affordable and environmentally responsible, one home at a time. For decades, Habitat has empowered individuals and families by providing not just shelter, but foundations and hope for a brighter future. We’re honored to contribute to this meaningful work with our time, products, and the support of our volunteers.
Rebuilding after disasters
Habitat for Humanity and its partners are working tirelessly to rebuild communities after life-disrupting disasters, building homes that are stronger, safer, more secure, and better able to withstand future threats. Corporate sponsors such as James Hardie play a pivotal role by supporting these efforts with high-performing, resilient products, and volunteers around the world. Together, we help families in affected areas not just rebuild but build back stronger.
Rebuilding homes and restoring hope
Rosa Fernandez's life was forever changed on January 7, 2025, when the Eaton Fire swept through Altadena, California. This devastating wildfire, fueled by fierce Santa Ana winds, destroyed over 9,000 structures and displaced more than 100,000 residents. Rosa, a dedicated community health worker, lost her home and the sense of security it provided. For weeks, she and her family lived in uncertainty, grappling with the emotional and financial toll of the disaster. Working through frustration and despair, hope emerged through Habitat for Humanity and their partnership with James Hardie. Now Rosa has more than just a house; she has a home, stability, and dreams for the future. Her story is a testament to resilience and the power of community.
Easing the strain of limited resources
For many working families, the dream of owning a home feels out of reach due to economic hardships. Without a stable, secure place to call home, it becomes even more difficult to support a family or build a future. Habitat for Humanity changes lives by creating opportunities for homeownership, empowering families to foster financial resilience and build generational wealth.
