Architects report a clear preference among clients for durable and sustainable exterior materials (such as fiber cement siding) on their homes, according to the AIA's quarterly Home Design Trends Survey. The poll also found that infill projects continue to grow in popularity as households seek homes that will retain value, and provide families with easier access to public transportation, employment and entertainment options.
