Second generation "G2" technology refers to Hardiebacker 500 board's exclusive formulation. It offers something traditional glass mesh boards can't— a cement composition with unmatched performance combined with superior workability.
Hardiebacker 500 board has more compressive and flexural strength than any board on the market, without compromising its ease of use. In fact, Hardiebacker board is the lightest cement board on the market and compared to glass mesh cement boards, weighs 6 lbs. less per 3'x 5' sheet and 13 lbs. less per 4'x 8' sheet. It doesn't contain any abrasive glass mesh or messy aggregate and it provides the highest level of moisture and mold protection available. Hardiebacker 500 board's proprietary manufacturing process gives it a smooth surface, making it the only cement board that can be painted, textured, or wallpapered, in addition to being tiled. Its second generation technology not only delivers unmatched durability, but also allows for versatility in finish, making it the ideal choice for wet area walls and floors. |
