Moisture Resistant
Designed specifically for bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms, HardieFloor will not flake apart with continuous moisture exposure. James Hardie Building Products, Inc. ("Hardie") warrants (for installation within the U.S. and Puerto Rico) to the purchaser and all transferees prior to and including the first owner of the structure to which the Product is applied, and to any owner of such structure (each a "covered person") that when manufactured, the HardieFloor panel complies with ASTM 1288 and is free from defects in material and manufacture.
When used for its intended purpose, properly installed and maintained according to Hardie's published installation instructions, the Product for a period of 30 years from the date of purchase
(a) will not rot or swell.
(b) When installed in accordance with the installation instructions, perform as reasonably required of a structural flooring material for the applicable period of the warranty.
1. REMEDIES:
If manufacturing defects are found, Hardie will, at its sole discretion, repair, or replace the defective panels together with any affected finished flooring up to ten times the purchase price.
2. CONDITIONS OF WARRANTY:
Hardie's liability hereunder to the covered person shall be subject to the following terms and conditions:
- The claimant must provide proof that he/she is a covered person.
- The Product must be stored according to the manufacturer's instructions at all times between purchase and installation.
- The Product must be installed according to Hardie's printed installation instructions and all building codes adopted by federal, state or local governments or government agencies and applicable to the installation. Failure to install and finish the product per the manufacturer's published instructions may effect Product performance and voids the Warranty.
- The covered person must provide written notice to James Hardie Building Products, Inc. within 30 days after discovery of any claimed defect or failure covered by this Warranty and before beginning any permanent repair. The notice must describe the location and details of the defect and such information as is necessary for Hardie to investigate the claim. Photos of the product, showing the defect or failure are not only helpful, but also must accompany the notice, when appropriate.
- Upon discovery of a possible defect or failure, the covered person must immediately, and at the covered person's own expense, provide for protection of all property that could be affected until the defect or failure is remedied. Before any permanent repair to the Product, the covered person must allow Hardie or Hardie's agent to enter the property and structure where the Product is installed, and examine, photograph and take samples of the Product.
3. EXCLUSIONS:
This Warranty does not cover damage or defects resulting from or in any way attributable to:
- the improper storage, shipping, handling or installation of the Product (including, without limitation, failure of the Product to be installed in strict compliance with the terms and conditions set forth in Section 2 (c) of this
warranty) and/or improper installation of joists or other accessories;
- neglect;
- abuse;
- misuse;
- repair or alteration;
- settlement or structural movement and/or movement of materials to which the Product is attached; (g) damage from incorrect design of the structure;
- acts of God including, but not limited to, hurricanes, tornados, floods, earthquakes, severe weather or other natural phenomena, (including, but not limited to, unusual climate conditions);
- lack of proper maintenance;
- any cause other than manufacturing defects attributable to Hardie.
4. DISCLAIMER:
The statements in this Warranty constitute the only warranty extended by Hardie for the Product. The implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose are limited in duration to four (4) years from the date of purchase except where prohibited by law. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
NO OTHER WARRANTY IS MADE BY OR ON BEHALF OF THE MANUFACTURER OR THE SELLER OR BY OPERATION OF LAW OR BY USAGE OF TRADE OR COURSE OF DEALING WITH RESPECT TO THE PRODUCT OR ITS INSTALLATION, STORAGE, HANDLING, MAINTENANCE, USE, REPLACEMENT OR REPAIR. This Warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
5. EXCLUSION OF INCIDENTAL AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES:
IN NO EVENT WILL HARDIE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, WHETHER RESULTING FROM NONDELIVERY OR FROM THE USE, MISUSE, OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT OR FROM DEFECTS IN THE PRODUCT. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
6. MODIFICATIONS AND ALTERATIONS OF PRODUCT:
Hardie shall have no responsibility hereunder for defective Product subjected to further processing or alteration after shipment.
7. SETTLEMENT OF CLAIM:
Any refund or material replacement by Hardie pursuant to Section 1 hereof shall constitute a full settlement and release of all claims of any covered person hereunder for damages or other relief, and shall be a complete bar to any litigation filed subsequently to the covered person's acceptance of such an agreement.
8. MODIFICATION OR DISCONTINUATION OF PRODUCTS:
Hardie reserves the right to modify or discontinue any of its products without notice and shall not be liable as a result of such modification or discontinuation.

HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution – Frequently Asked Questions
A: A circular saw fitted with a HardieBlade™ Saw blade and HEPA dust reduction system can easily cut HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution. If you need to make hole cuts for plumbing or electrical lines, there are several bits available that work well with HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution. Please refer to HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution installation instructions to determine the appropriate bit for specific applications.
A: HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution can be installed with 6d or 8d common corrosion resistant nails. Composite deck screws can also be used and are recommended for reducing "mushrooming" and "squeaks." Please refer to HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution installation instructions for complete guidelines on approved fasteners and schedules.
A: HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution should be swept of debris and lightly dampened with a moist sponge. The floor is then ready to apply thinset. The seams between HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution sheets do not need to be caulked or covered with joint tape. A: HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution should be laid out in a brick pattern like other sub-floors. Four corners of HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution sheets should never meet. HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution can easily be integrated with the remainder of the floor sheathing. A: HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution can be installed as as a subfloor anywhere inside a home. HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution is specially engineered with DuraTech™ Technology for wet areas of the home like bathrooms, but it may be used in all rooms of the home. Please refer to HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution installation instructions and Technical Data Sheet for complete guidelines for lay out and installation.
A: HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution is like all good tile backerboards, it is dimensionally stable. Since it won't expand and contract like wood, tile can be applied directly to HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution. However, it is not limited to just natural stone and tile. Carpet, hardwood, and linoleum can also be applied to HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution.
A: One sheet of HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution weighs 75 lbs. It is recommended that two persons carry each sheet.
A: HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution was engineered with DuraTech Technology to provide the necessary strength to be the structural floor and provide moisture and mold resistance which makes it an ideal surface for adhering tile to in the wet areas of a home. A backer board does NOT need to be applied over HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution before laying tile.
A: You can use HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution in the interior of all residential one and two family dwellings. HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution complies with ICC-ES Acceptance Criteria 367 which stipulates product requirements for structural floors. HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution provides superior mold resistance as proven by passing both industry standard mold tests (ASTM; G21 and ASTM D 3273). Also by using HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution, you are removing the wood based subfloor, which is a food source for mold.
HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution is an excellent substrate for tile and requires fewer steps to install tile. HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution passes industry standard measures such as, the Robinson Floor Test and tile adhesion tests which are recommended by the Tile Council of America. HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution is a stiffer material than most conventional subfloors which will provide a firm surface for tile.
DuraTech Technology is a patented innovation which allows James Hardie to make a fiber cement product with advanced structural integrity. This technology allows you to replace the wood sub-floor in wet areas with a fiber cement floor which is moisture, mold, and rot resistant.
Yes, HardieFloor™ Wet Area Solution has been designed to be compatible with other subfloors. The tongue and groove geometry provides strength and is designed to fit into most joint profiles of other subfloors.
